Child Support
Wellesley Child Support Lawyer
Child support is often one of the most contentious issues associated with divorce. It is also one of the terms most likely presented to a judge for modification. Feldman Family Law, in Boston, Massachusetts, helps people deal with child support issues and post-divorce modification of child support provisions.
Skilled Wellesley, MA Child Support Lawyer
It can be difficult to determine how much child support should be paid and what issues are involved in determining child support. Often negotiated child support agreements are very detailed covering issues such as private school and college tuition, daily child expenses, and life insurance policies and who is named as beneficiaries on those policies.
It is incorrect to assume that child support payments will simply end when a child turns eighteen. Massachusetts counts children as dependents until they turn twenty-one, as long as they are primarily dependent on the custodial parent for support. If the child is enrolled in a post-secondary educational instruction, child support may continue until the child is twenty-three.
